We care about your safety, so we've compiled this list of warning signs to watch out for if you suspect something isn't quite right.

This guide will provide you with some guidance on what to do in each circumstance, but keep in mind that you should always contact us if you feel uncomfortable while using the platform. Your worries will be treated carefully and in confidence. Call your local emergency number if you ever feel unsafe.

Keep an eye out for these things:

Someone is behaving suspiciously on your task

We urge you to stop communicating with the person on Taskhelper and leave the situation if their actions are making you feel uneasy.

As soon as you can, let us know what happened so that our professional Trust and Safety team can assist you.

Remember to dial your local emergency number if you ever feel unsafe or need help.

Something appears to be too good to be true

Typically, if something appears unusually good, it probably isn't. Extremely urgent tasks at strange hours of the night, and demands to use your own funds or accounts to complete chores should all raise red flags. Before making an offer, post a question in the comments section, especially to clarify any uncertainty or to check the precise details of a work.

For further advice, see our in-depth post right here. Please inform us if you have any more concerns so we can look into them.

Someone wants to cancel for cash

On occasion, a client may ask for the work to be cancelled so they may make a cash payment instead. There are several possible scenarios for this, but research suggests it could be linked to fraud.

We charge for tasks that remain on Taskhelper so that we may provide services that safeguard both consumers and Helpers. We can offer a secure platform and payment system, insurance, dispute resolution, and support staff thanks to the service and booking fees we charge for Helpers and Posters. Any of these services are really useful if something goes wrong and will not be available if a task is cancelled.

To keep it safe and not risky, we highly advise keeping the work and payment on Taskhelper. You can respectfully decline the request to cancel in favour of cash and state that you would want to continue on the platform if it is made. Reach out to us, and we can help if you ever feel uneasy during this kind of chat.

Something was lost during a task

It's likely that you left something behind at the task's location if you can't find it (such as tools, keys, or other things). Consider contacting the customer to see if they have found anything.

Reach out to us if you're having problems getting in touch with them or having your item(s) returned so that we can provide advice based on the circumstances.
