What is a private offer, and how might it benefit me?

A private offer is essentially a customer-specific proposition for a task or a quote. The offer is tailored to that customer and has to take into account any particular task requirements. Private offers will not be viewed or found by any other users that are not you or your customer.

How do I send a private offer?

To send a private offer, head to the Messages section of Taskhelper, open the chat with the customer you’d like to send an offer to and hit ‘Send an offer’. We recommend that you engage the customer in conversation before sending an offer.

Who can I send a private offer to?

You can send a private offer to any customer you have previously worked with and whom you have already communicated with in the Private Messages section of Taskhelper.

In the case of a customer sending you an enquiry on your listing, you may also send them a private offer.

What information is included in a private offer?

A private offer can be thought of as a work contract between you and the customer, it should contain all the details required for you to work with the client and prevent unforeseen outcomes later on.

What should your private offer contain?

1. Your offer should have a name

Your private offer should have a title for the Helper to understand what it is about.

Example:

  • Build my furniture'.

2. Your offer should have a description

You should briefly describe what the task consists of. Be sure to include important details you and your Helper agreed on.

Example of details you have agreed on:

  • ‘Utensils to be provided by the customer'.

3. Settle on a price

The cost of the job, as described in the description should be fully reflected in the pricing.

4. Choose a location

Depending on the task, choose whether the offer is for work to be done 'in-person' or 'online'. 'Online' should only be chosen if you are providing a service that does not require your physical presence or if you are not needed to finish the task when the customer is present.

5. Agree on a deadline

Choose a deadline for the task to be completed that both you and your customer agree on before sending your private offer.

You can withdraw or cancel your task

If the customer hasn't accepted the offer yet, you can decide to withdraw the offer. A withdrawn offer can't be accepted by the customer. However, if the customer has accepted it, you have to cancel it. Keep in mind, that cancelling a task has an influence on your completion rate.

Can I edit a private offer?

You can't edit a private offer once it has been created. If you wish to edit it, you can withdraw the private offer and make a new one.

Are private offers free to create?

Yes! It is free to create private offers and you are able to send as many as you want.

When an offer is accepted by a customer and you are assigned the task, Taskhelper charges a service fee. The service fee depends on the task pricing as well as if yours is a new task or one that has been done before. However, in the case of a customer not accepting an offer, you won't be charged.
